Products for USB Sensing and Control
This heavy duty switch is a double break type, meaning you can switch two completely different circuits with it should you so desire. When the switch is up, the top two terminals are open and the bottom two are closed. When the switch is pressed, the top terminals close and the bottom terminals open. You can jumper both pins on one side together turn it into a single-pole double-throw switch.
This switch has an adjustable-length rod, useful for triggering on moving parts that may contact the the rod along its length.

When the switch is unpressed, the bottom two terminals are connected. When the switch is pressed, the top terminals are connected instead. If you wire the top and bottom pins on one side together, you can make it behave like a standard SPDT switch, with the pins that are wired together serving as the common, and the top and bottom pins behaving as normally open and normally closed, respectively.
This switch can be read by connecting one end to a digital input and the other end to the ground pin of the same board. Here's a list of boards with digital inputs:

You can use a 2-conductor cable to easily connect this switch to you InterfaceKit or Hub.
The upper terminals are for "Normally Open" operation and the lower terminals are for "Normally Closed". The last screw is for the case ground. We recommend using fork connectors to attach your wires to the terminals of the switch for a reliable connection. Alternatively, you could just screw the stripped wires into the terminal instead.
