The PhidgetInterfaceKit 8/8/8 is a general-purpose controller used to interface with digital and analog sensors.
The analog inputs are used to measure a 0-5V signal. Many different sensors (temperature, humidity, pressure, etc.) output a voltage that corresponds to this voltage range.
The digital inputs can interface with devices like push buttons, limit switches, and more. Each input includes hardware filtering to prevent false triggering caused by electrical noise.
The digital outputs can be used to drive LEDs, solid-state relays, and any other logic-level device.

Use a USB cable to connect this Phidget to your computer. We have a number of different lengths available, although the maximum length of a USB cable is 5 meters due to limitations in the timing protocol. For longer distances, we recommend that you use a Single Board Computer to control the Phidget remotely.

To connect analog sensors you'll need Phidget cables. You can solder multiple cables together in order to make even longer Phidget cables, but you should be aware of the effects of having long wires in your system.
