This 25mm ball screw gives you an option for precise linear positioning. Ball Screws have excellent repeatability, with very low backlash - they offer superior precision when compared to belt/chain based positioning systems.
This screw has a usable travel distance of about 352mm.
These bearings can be put at the ends of a ball screw to securely mount and support it. There are different bearings for the drive and support ends of the screw. Have a look at the Linear motion primer for assembly details.

If you're building a rotary system that requires a lot of torque, you may be interested in pulleys and sprockets. By using a two pulleys or sprockets of different sizes, you can increase the gear ratio and thus increase the torque from the motor or device driving the system. Pulleys and sprockets can also be used to transmit the motor's rotation over a long distance. For more guidance on building a transmission system, visit our Rotary Motion Primer. Here is a list of our 17mm bore pulleys and sprockets:

Systems with heavy loads or pulley/sprocket assemblies often put a lot of sideways strain on the motor shaft. If you're using such a system, you can use rotary bearings to protect the motor:
