Products for USB Sensing and Control
With this USB hub for your VINT SBC, you'll have access to seven high-speed USB 2.0 ports. You can also use this USB Hub directly from your computer, if you just want an awesome USB 2.0 powered hub to keep all of your Phidgets happy.
Because we know you're going to be plugging all sorts of power-hungry devices into this hub, we've made it externally powered by a power supply of 8 to 30 volts. That means you're not limited to the amount of power that this hub gets from the upstream USB connection.
Use a USB cable to connect Phidgets to this USB hub. We have a number of different lengths available, although the maximum length of a USB cable is 5 meters due to limitations in the timing protocol. For longer distances, we recommend that you use a Single Board Computer to control the Phidget remotely.

This Phidget requires a power supply between 8 and 30V DC. We recommend that you use a 12V 2A DC power supply, as this should be more than enough to power all seven USB ports at maximum capacity. Select the power supply from the list below that matches your region's wall socket type.

As per USB standards, a USB device can be expected to consume a maximum of 0.5A. Therefore, you should select a power supply for the HUB0003 with a power rating of at least 17.5 watts (i.e. 3.5A at 5V) if you want to run all seven ports at maximum load with no problems. If there isn't enough power to go around, your attached Phidgets might periodically disconnect and reconnect. All of the power supplies sold at Phidgets are at least 24 watts, so you will be fine with any one of them.
