Idler sprockets are standard sprockets with an integrated bearing. This allows them to spin freely without impeding the rotation in your system. This is useful for when you want an adjustable way to tension a chain system that doesn't impact the movement of the chain or place additional load on the motor.
Note: A small amount of Loctite can be used on the shaft to prevent the idler sprocket from shifting laterally on the shaft if this is an issue.
This sprocket is compatible with series #25 chain. The amount of chain required depends on the desired distance between your two sprockets; for installation details see the Rotary Motion Guide.
