This shaft is made of 1045 carbon steel and is 12mm in diameter. This is the same diameter as the gearbox output shaft on all our NEMA 23 steppers as well as larger DC motors. This shaft has a keyway machined in the full length of the shaft for higher torque applications.
If you need to connect this shaft to a motor or another device with a shaft, you can use a shaft coupler:
