This reflective sensor triggers when the infrared light it emits is reflected back at it. The included reflector plate provides an ideal surface for reflecting the beam, but most objects will also trigger it when they are within its 2m range.
Note: The detecting distance will vary depending on the size and surface texture of the object.
This sensor requires a 10-30V power supply and outputs 5V when the sensor is triggered. The easiest way to use this sensor is to connect it to the Versatile Input Phidget, a device that can interface a wide variety of sensor types.
To connect the sensor, connect the wires as follows:

The above configuration is for NO (normally open) operation. For NC (normally closed), switch the black and white wires.
