When you double click on a Text LCD object, a window like the one pictured will open.

*Write in the ''Display text'' text boxes, your input will be mirrored on the LCD screen.
* At the top of the window, information about your device and the properties of this particular channel will be listed.  
*Drag the ''Contrast'' and ''Brightness'' sliders to a level where you can clearly see the text on the screen.
* At the bottom, you can select the size of the attached screen and click the "Init" button to enable writing text to the LCD screen. Type some text in the two display boxes and adjust the brightness and contrast sliders until the letters are clear. You can turn on a blinking cursor, and you can click the custom characters button to demonstrate the capability for user-defined characters.
*Toggle the ''Cursor'' and ''Cursor Blink'' checkbox to view the current cursor position on the LCD screen.
*Toggle ''Custom Characters'' to show an example of the {{{1}}} using bitmaps.

Text LCD

General information about the selected object will be displayed at the top of the window. You can also experiment with the following functionality:

  • Write in the Display text text boxes, your input will be mirrored on the LCD screen.
  • Drag the Contrast and Brightness sliders to a level where you can clearly see the text on the screen.
  • Toggle the Cursor and Cursor Blink checkbox to view the current cursor position on the LCD screen.
  • Toggle Custom Characters to show an example of the {{{1}}} using bitmaps.
  • Use the Clear button to clear the screen.
