Spot size (or divergence) of DST1001 and DST1002

Post by G_Gagnon »

Good day from eastern Canada,

Does anyone have a value for the spot size at 500mm of the DST1001 and DST1002. I have an application where there may be an obstacle or a physical interference between the sensor and the object I want to measure the distance from. If the spot size is small enough (few centimeters) I can manage but if the interference fools the measurement I'll try to find another solution.

Thanks!

The field of view on the DST1001 is 25° and on the DST1002 it's 15°.

That means that at a distance of 500mm, the spot size would be ~111mm and 66mm respectively.

For maximum accuracy, also note that this is 500mm from the sensor not from the top face of the enclosure.

Thanks for your reply. I think that the DST1002 will do the job.
