Hi, I'm looking for a solution where I could connect several external buttons to a Windows PC, preferable by IP (because of the distance, but it can also be USB transported over IP) and detect which button is being pressed.
Do you have any solution for external buttons ?

thank you,
Pedro

While you may be able to run USB over ethernet, or use USB extenders, we've found that USB isn't very reliable at distances greater than 5 meters because of the timing of the protocol.

The best solution for your situation would be the HUB5000 Wireless VINT Hub. It can connect to your network via ethernet or Wi-Fi, and then any windows PC on that network can access its ports and attached devices. The HUB5000 has six ports that can themselves be used as digital inputs for buttons, or if you need more buttons you can connect VINT Digital Input devices such as the DAQ1200.
