phidgets through SBC

Postby uknod » Thu Jul 13, 2017 2:00 pm

I am running 4 phidget devices through one USB. All 8.8.8's But I would like to use an sbc via a network cable, as the PC can then be placed far away.
When I plug in to the SBC I cannot control the boards with the code I was using when they wer ein the usb.
In essence I was using your code example interface_kit. Also the manager program does not see the phodgets, the only way to see them is by using the bonjour tag under web. All I need is the initial code to access the phidgets phidgetIFK.open(serial number) does not work.

If you're running the program on your computer which is talking to the SBC over the network, you'll need to open the Phidgets remotely instead of locally. This is done using the openRemote function, (or an overloaded version of open in the case of C#) which takes an IP address as a parameter. Have a look at the API for your language (in the Phidget21 documentation if you're still using Phidget21) for more details.
