Connect SainSmart relay8 channel for arduin to phidget 8/8/8

Hi,

is possible to connect this board relays http://www.sainsmart.com/8-channel-dc-5 ... logic.html

to phidget 8/8/8 via digital out primer?

What is the right scheme?

You should be able to hook up the digital outputs on the 8/8/8 in the same way that they show the Raspberry Pi can be connected.

If you use the 1012_2 InterfaceKit, you can eliminate the resistor/transistor circuit they show in the Raspberry Pi wiring diagram, since the 1012 switches the digital outputs directly to ground.

On second thought, the 1018/1073 outputs should be able to bring the pins to ground, so your diagram should work. From what I can tell, JD-VCC is the relay power pin, so you can bridge it to the VCC pin since you're working with 5V.

I connected the whole thing works, but on the contrary !

When the Output is off then Volt = 0 the Rele on SainSamart is OPEN
when the Outout is ON then volt = 5 the Rele on SainSamart is CLOSED

The relay board is “active low” which means the relays are switched on when the inputs have a low voltage (0V) applied to them. Since the GPIO pins output 3.3V when active, this
circuit will effectively short the relay board input to ground making it 0V and will activate the relay.

How can I do to reverse ?

If you're still using the 8/8/8 then the simplest solution is to just reverse the logic in the program you're using. If you're just using the control panel example, you can download our examples and should be able edit it to flip the outputs without too much trouble.

Yes, of course , but when the system starts the relay should be all in on for a moment until my software do not set the output to 1. It is not beautiful .

Other solution?

How can I reverse the logic of the digital output natively?

It looks like those are 3-pin relays, so you should be able to connect to the normally-closed pin instead of the normally-open pin. This means connecting to pins B and C instead of A and B.

It is not certain but doing so avoids the fact that if the Phidget turns off all relays are normally open . And I use the relay for an irrigation system . It's not very safe . I would prefer that the relays were as Normally Closed.

Yes, that circuit should also work with Phidgets. The digital output will be 5V instead of 3.3V but that will still work with the BC337. It should also work with an inverting IC like the one you posted. As far as I know, there's no way to get the behaviour you want without adding some amount of extra circuitry like these.
