RFID Protocols and its implementation

Postby yee_rules » Mon Feb 16, 2015 10:53 pm

Dear friends,

First of all, i love this forum it is so helpful.
Well i was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. Im curently designing an RFID implementation using arduinos and active RFID antennas.
The thing is that im a bit confused on the implementation details.
The antenna provider suplies a "DEMO" executable to ry out the antenna functionality, it uses de rs232 interface and it works perfectly. it scans an 12 byte IDentification (HEX). no problem there!

On my current implementation am using the Wiegand protocol interface, it succesfully (I believe) outputs an 26 bit ID...

The question is.. am i reading on the wiegand protocol a short version of the HEX ID??
Why have two protocols EPC GEN2 and WIEGAND on the same reader and both of them displaying different codes??
Thanks for you time!!
