Connection issues with 1062_1 controller

Postby efix_yck » Fri Nov 21, 2014 8:32 pm

I am new to Phidget and recently gotten a new 1062_1 stepper controller, which work fine when connected locally to a Mac, the device shows up in the Phidget control panel and drives 4 steppers readily.

But when it was connected locally to the SBC3, via the USB ports, it shows up then disconnects. I checked Isusb and it doesn't show.

I disconnect the 1062_1 and ran the Manager-simple.c example, then reattached the 1062_1, it shows up as attached then detaches after 2-5secs.

I checked the syslog, it shows the 1062_1 connected to the corresponding USB port, then, after 3secs, the USB disconnects.

Having a spare 1062_1, I switched the boards and it shows up, stayed connected and works fine remotely and locally with the SBC3.

I need both boards for my project. Has anyone experienced the same issue or can help with the troubleshooting.

Thanks in advance.

I could be a cable issue - can you try a thicker / shorter cable?

Otherwise, it may just be a bad 1062, or 1073, which would be replaced under warranty.

Hi Patrick

I have tried it with a shorter cable, it didn't show up on lsusb.

I tested the USB ports on both the SBC with the 1062 connected, both the miniB and SBC outlets port reads 5.09V.

I don't think it is the SBC cus I have another 1062 and it work fine locally with the SBC.
