Weight Scale for Microcontroller application

Postby gshimabuko » Mon Jan 27, 2014 5:38 am

Hello everybody,

I'm an electrical and Electronics Engineering student and I'm working in a project that involves developing a weight scale and measuring the weight via microcontroller. I read about your 3135 -micro Load Cell and it seems to fit just perfectly to my project. The only problem is that the amplifier suggested appears to work on computers only. I was wondering if there's a way to use your 1046 to interface with an arduino, or a MSP430, or if you guys have another amplifier for my application.

Thanks for the help, I've been working in this project for a really long time and the weight scale is the last part of the puzzle. It would be great if you guys found a way to help me out.

I would like also interface a 1046 PhidgetBridge with an arduino board.
I looking for drivers or documentations about the USB protocol.

Thanks for your help

Since Phidgets all plug into a computer via USB, you must use a computer that

1) Runs a supported operating system (Windows, OSX, Linux, WinCE, iOS, Android)
2) Has a USB host controller and USB ports

Arduino has neither of these out of the box, so you wouldn't be able to use it with something like the 1046. Something like the Raspberry Pi has both of these, so it would be able to run Phidgets.

We don't document the USB protocol, but the full Linux source is available for you to read through if you want to implement an unsupported platform.
