phidget 8/8/8 digital output

Postby yeshwanth » Sun Jun 24, 2012 8:47 pm

I am thinking of using a phidget 8/8/8 digital output to drive two resistors in series (~10K each) and then feeding the output voltage across one resistor to the analog input of phidget (to read the corresponding value). I was wondering if this would work since I could not find the maximum current that can be sourced by a single digital output. The manual just says that a digital output pin is used to drive cmos or ttl inputs. Can someone clarify if this would work?

You should try to keep the draw on the digital outputs below 10mA for reliable operation. Though the theoretical maximum is 16mA.
