Using stepper control with Max/msp

Postby Woody » Fri Sep 26, 2008 10:32 am

Hi

I was hoping to use the stepper control max/msp patch, but I'm having no luck with getting it working....

max just shows this message-
newobj: PhidgetStepper: No such object

I've successfully tested the stepper motor through the mac os x system preferences interface, so I know it's all connected

Could any one help me the max patch....

I would most appreciate it, thanks

Do you have the stepper object installed in the search path? Have you used any other Phidgets in Max. Try double clicking the .help file for the stepper with the max external next to it and see if that works.

Hi Patrick

Thanks for your response, I'm slightly confused as I'm new to both phidgets and Max/msp, but really eager to get it to work...

It seems that there isn't a .mxo file for the stepper control within the os x- max/msp download package, only the 'PhidgetStepper.help' file. It's the only phidget module thats missing this file.

Surely this .mxo file is the external patcher object, and is essential....

Is it possible to obtain this file?

Thanks so very much

I think you install Window patch of max/msp instead of Osx version.
That's happen to me when I try to run my Osx one on Windows the first time.
