VINT digital output voltage

Quick question about the digital output on the wifi vint board. I've got an optical relay switch that triggers at 3V. When I set the pulse width to 1 on the output, my voltmeter only reads 2.8V and isn't enough to trigger the relay. Specs seem to say that the digital output is 3.3V. I don't own an oscilloscope, so I can't diagnose. Should I be able to trigger this relay using only the digital output, or will I have to get a step up converter?

Thanks!

Ah... Was an issue with the switch. I see a good 3.3V coming out of the output of the vint. I will try a different switch.
