Control of the wifi adapter on SBC3. Need help

Postby morgan » Mon Dec 07, 2015 8:29 pm

There may be a case where i would remotely want to change the wifi connection, or possiblely ADD a wifi hotspot to the sbc3's configuration. Is there an easy way to do this programatically?

I could always post to the html configuration page but logging in etc would be a pain. Any help is appreciated. Ill keep testing. Thanks

You can accomplish this over ssh. Have a look at /var/www/cgi-bin/network-wireless.sh to see how the web interface accomplishes this via shell scripts.

just to follow up with this... it turns out to be a very easy process to change the wifi connection. Edit the file: /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf and then reboot the system.

Note: key_mgmt=NONE ...Means connect to any network!

Code: Select all

ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
update_config=1

network={
   ssid="The Force"
   psk="morgan123"
   proto=RSN
   key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
}

network={
   ssid="test"
   psk="morgan123"
   proto=RSN
   key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
}

network={
   key_mgmt=NONE
}
