SBC3 comes with full Debian 7, so you can install any Java you like from the full Debian repository.

By default, it will install default-jre-headless - which is OpenJDK 6 (Java 1.6), without any of the user interface classes (since we don't have a display).

You could install OpenJDK 7 if you wanted to, it's also available in the repository. Since the SBC3 comes with Debian, it will remain upgradable for much longer then the SBC1.

I recieved my new SBC3..... I setup my admin password, Installed java support, and uploaded my java project. it instantly connected to my web server, and uploaded my data.

This is great!!! It's finally working. Now to find a use for my SBC1... hmmm
