Cascading of VINT hubs is allowed?

Post by Orf Quarenghi »

I'm considering a project using a lot of stepper motors.
I'm wondering how many of them I can handle on a single Windows PC.
Can I cascade VINT hubs to control a large number Stepper Phidgets?

Thanks

You can connect multiple hubs no problem, up to the maximum number your PC will allow for USB HID devices.

How do you access each of the VINT hub's ports? I want to make sure I am accessing the corrent VINT's port number.

You can address each hub using the serial number printed on the sticker on the underside. You can set the DeviceSerialNumber property before calling open on the channel.

To clarify, each VINT Hub needs a USB cable connected to your computer.

You cannot chain multiple VINT Hubs by plugging them together by their VINT ports.
