Help wiring for sharp distance sensor GP2Y0A710K0F

Postby crash » Tue Apr 01, 2014 4:47 pm

Hello everyone, i have bought the Sharp IR distance sensor GP2Y0A710K0F but since there is no ready-to-use cable to attach it to the 1101_0 - IR Distance Adapter i have to wire my own and since that sensor (as you can see from this datasheet http://www.robotshop.com/media/files/pd ... asheet.pdf) has 5 output pins, instead of 3 as all the other sharp distance sensors, i was wondering which was the correct wiring.

Could you please tell me if one of the 2 wiring solutions in the attached image is correct? Any help is appreciated! Thanks everyone

According to the data sheet for your sensor, wires 1 and 5 are connected internally, as are wires 2 and 3. Since you only need one of each wire, you can use one from each pair, or you can solder both pairs together. Therefore either of you wiring solutions will work.
