1018 and Dakota 3rd party sensor

Postby bupkes » Fri Mar 28, 2014 12:00 pm

Noob question: I'm trying to connect a Dakota Alert basestation transceiver to a 1018 board for home automation through Indigo. The powered basestation has NO relay output receptacles one red one black. The docs say the relay has a capacity of 5A @ 28V DC

Can I wire this to a DI on the 1018 to trigger an event in my HA package?

Yes, you can connect the ground terminal from the 1018 to one side of the relay and the digital input to the other end. When the alert occurs, the relay will close and activate the digital input.
