Phidget specific HID Table

Postby MathieuEnac » Wed Jan 29, 2014 6:15 am

Hi,
I'd like to use the phidgets interfaceKit using exclusively HID protocol, in order to use it on Win, OSX, Linux.

Is it possible to have the phidget specific HID table (usagePage and usage) ?
Or can I find it somewhere ?
apparently, on linux's source, your are reading directly from usb.

best regards.

Phidgets are not HID devices. I know that they show up as being HID class - but this is only so that we can use the Windows HID driver rather then writing a custom kernel driver. All communication is via raw packet read/write.

Hi,

I do not understand.
because If I plug on Numerical port 0, a touch detector on the InterfaceKit
I receive HID report telling me that the value on the port 0 is between 0 to 255 depending on the distance from finger and the touch detector.
Unfortunatly, for now, I only test with a touch detector because I don't have others sensors.
Do you mean that regardless the sensors I plug in, I will always have those values back ?

best regards

Phidgets use custom packets. If you try to interpret them using a HID library, you will just get useless nonsense data.
