PhidgetBridge Problems

Postby jimovonz » Wed Jan 22, 2014 1:20 pm

I am having problems using a PhidgetBridge on my Android Device (USB Host). The device works fine on the PC and I have written a VB app that reads values from a load cell. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S4 (Android version 4.2.2) but have also tested on an S3 with no luck. I am using the 'HelloWorld' example app. I have written apps for Android previously and am familiar with Eclipse. I can compile and run the examples without any issues. The android device reports a USB connection when I plug in the PhidgetBridge and asks for permission for the HelloWorld app to access it. However, the HelloWorld app reports no connected device and does nothing no matter what I try. I can use other USB devices on this phone with no problem (drive, 433MHz modem etc). I can see the connected PhidgetBridge (name and serial number etc) using other 3rd party utilities on the Android device.
Any help appreciated

I get the following results on my GS4 using 'USB Device Info' (obtained from here:

I have not been able to get the HelloWorld app to recognize the PhidgetBridge. I have however, been able to interface directly with the bridge by modifying the SpatialUSBExample. Using this code you can display the raw bridge outputs. This code works on my Samsung Galaxy S4 (Android v4.2.2)

Here is the modified code:
