I'm wanting to connect a coffee roaster to Artisan. I have two questions on the 1048_0B.
1) The 1048_0B states it reads Celsius. Can the 1048_0B be changed to Fahrenheit?
2) Can an external display be added to the 1048_0B, so I can get temp. reading when not connected to a computer?

1) You can convert degrees Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit by using the formula:

°F = (°C * 9/5) + 32

2) No, the 1048 must be used with a computer.
