UHF RFID

(I'm sure I've seen this topic before, but cannot find it)

Are there any plans for RFID in the 860-960MHz range? If not - is it because of technical issues or cost issues?
Something like the (expensive..) Supernova UHF RFID reader and inexpensive passive UHF RFID stickers would give 10m range and some quite interesting possibilities compared to the short-range 1024_0.

In the past we've looked into HF (13MHz) RFID, but had difficulties getting substantial read distance increases over LF with our antennas. HF/UHF is still on our radar for possible new Phidgets, but with the lengthy compliance testing that needs to be done, we'll have to be sure it's feasible and cost effective for our customers before moving forward on it.
