I have had an ongoing problem, like over a year, with an SBC2 (details below). This problem only occurs on this particular SBC2 (I have 3 others). At seemingly random times the Ethernet port freezes. That is, it stops communicating and seems to power down - the switch the SBC is connected to shows the port as disconnected. Simply unplugging the RJ45 from either the SBC2 or the switch resolves the problem - until it occurs again. I have tried switching ports on the switch, and changing cables, but the problem happens of every port I have tried. (FWIW, this is a high-quality 24port HP switch).
I already doing a reboot at 03:00 in the cron. However, I usually notice this problem in the morning, so, it is possible the port never actually starts up after the reboot. As noted above, this only happens occasionally, usually 2 or 3 time a month.
Any ideas on this problem?
