Missing Current limit function for bipolar driver

Postby Gosse » Tue Sep 22, 2009 10:52 am

Dear Sir,

I am using the Phidget bipolar stepper driver with Max Msp on Mac osx.

In the driver under system preferences there is the option to set the current limit. This is necessary in order to tweak the driver in such a way that it does optimal micro stepping.

In the help patch for MaX/Msp this option seems to be missing and I cant get the smooth movement anymore which I could get in the driver menu before.

How can I add this functionality to Max/Msp?

Thanks a lot !!!

Hi,

This is an oversight, and will be added to Max for the next release.

Thanks for the reply.
But i am working on an installation which is due to be finished by the end of november.

Is there a possibility to embed this function in Max/Msp myself?
Or do I need a special object for it?
When is the next release planned to be launched?

Or is there an other way around this problem?

Thanks!

I will release new Max externs today. It's a quick fix, but I need to do it myself.

I'm having the same problem in Labview. I have the 1063 stepper controller, but the Labview code on your website doesnt have the Current limit function on it. Can you help me out?

Thanks!
