[Dis|Re]connect phidget hardware with a live phidget object

Dear People,

Plugging in and out of phidget hardware was always a bit problematic.
(I work mainly on MacOSX but think this statement also holds in the Windows world).

The one sure way for success was to adhere to the procedure:
1) plug in hardware
2) start your patch

If then the hardware was disconnected you had to close the patch en repeat the procedure.

Now in the text file that comes with the latest objects the suggestion is made that is should be possible to remove the hardware with a connection to a live Max object and have it working again just after reconnection the hardware. I've tried this on several systems and this does not work.

I tried to look at a latest version of the sources of the Max objects but could not find them.

I have two questions:
1) What is the recommended procedure for disconnecting/connecting phidget hardware in the Max world
2) Where is the download of the source code on the new phidget website.

You're right, there's appears to be an issue. I believe that this only affects Mac. While waiting for a fix, you may want to add your board serial number as an argument, as this will give you more reliable reconnects.
