I've been running an SBC remotely for about a month and have been generally pleased with its operation. Lately, I've developed a utility to allow a client to attach and run various tasks, but have found that the OpenRemoteIP function doesn't always work as expected. I've been getting a lot of timeouts. At first I thought maybe I was cycling through the sensors too fast - so I trimmed back the sensitivity, the change trigger and data rate in hopes of alleviating the problem. That doesn't seem to help. I can always log in immediately with putty and with the webservice - no problem. But haven't been able to log in with either my program or with the phidgets interface.
 - 09/12/11 09:24:15 2/WARN Authentication failed or bad version - closing connection
Since I don't see any other messages using the OpenRemoteIP in VB6, I can't decode that either, other than a timeout. Logging doesn't seem to reveal anything.
One other question - if anyone might have some insight - is there a library in Phidgets that will allow the server to identify a client logging in? There's obviously a password mechanism - but it would simplify my world a lot to be able to identify a client. Thanks in advance to any answers to these two issues.
