1066 - PhidgetAdvancedServo 1-Motor not responding

Postby hoyomi » Wed Jun 15, 2011 2:52 pm

Hi there,

I recently upgraded my system from debian lenny 32bit to debian squeeze 64bit.
I installed driver and compiled the sample code as instructed. When I tried to test with AdvancedServo-simple, there was no response from the motor. In terminal it says "Waiting for Phidget to be attached....Problem waiting for attachment: Given timeout has been exceeded."

I tested the same servo and motor under mac os with control panel. Everything worked fine.

Any idea why it is not working?

Thanks,
Milo

Probably you need to install the udev rule.

How exactly do I do it? There is already a 99-phidgets.rules installed.

Say I declared:
CPhidgetAdvancedServoHandle servo = 0;

Is there a way to assign a USB device directly to the variable using the name in /dev/usb/ ?

Does the example work when run as root?
