Step size of 1062 stepper controller?

Postby zorro55 » Wed Feb 22, 2012 5:15 am

Is it possible to use other "step sizes" with 1062 stepper controller card than half steps? Is it possible to take full steps with each pulse, or 1/4 steps or other step sizes?

(Manual did not mention anything about this, so I suppose that it's only possible to take "half steps" with this card. Just asking to be sure...)

The 1062 is permanently in half stepping mode. If you need a controller that can full step or quarter step then you should look at the 1063. It ranges from full stepping all the way down to 16th stepping.

Note that the step pattern is not user selectable though, it is chosen automatically by the controller based on speed. The 1063 is also designed for bipolar motors instead of unipolar, so it might be unsuitable.
