Hello all

I just want to announce that we are preparing a software description of our system. The articles will go online in a few hours/days. Unfortunately the text is in german, but I think Google Translator can do the magic :-)
And now a little picture for your amusement. Thanks to the Phidgets guys for publishing the .step files

Hi all

now everything is done so far, the descriptions are online. Also, as some kind of christmas present, I added the talk that I have given in my institute yesterday to the page. You can find it here:

Now we wish you merry christmas and happy holidays

Hi all

This time a question concerning the SBC. Is it possible to connect both the barrel and green connector to the power supply for about 40sec? We need to switch from the power input terminal that is connected to the normal 12V power supply and provides power to the SBC during bootup to the power input jack that is connected to the 12V battery due to calibration of our brushless controllers. We thus provide power to the SBC from both connectors for the given time and disconnect the terminal afterwards.

I doubt the SBC will have troubles, but your battery/power supply may not like being directly connected like that, I'm not really sure.

Hi

We measured and both barrel and jack seem to be connected in parallel internally. So connecting a 12.5V battery and the 12.18V power supply for a short time should not cause troubles. We will test it :-)

Hi all

after a few weeks of running idle our project goes on now. The controller is replaced and the engines are working fine again. We even implemented an automatic calibration function.

Stay tuned for news

Greetings

Hi all

after a few weeks of absence, here is a short update:
The RoboDrohne is in testing state. We try to optimize the controlling algorithms by gimbal-mounting it.

Another small project is an alternative way of controlling Elwood, our RC car. We want to build an Android based App. The first Version is in development and should be running soon. Data taking via sliding and device movements is implemented. MJPEG Stream reading is implemented and data transmission works (only in infrastructure mode). The last step is to emulate the Data Transmission Protocol. This is a little harder to accomplish as the protocol is optimized for desktop computers running standard Java. Thus some features we use are missing in Android and need to be implemented.

We keep you updated.

Hi

finally our gimbal-mount is done and ready for testing. Check it out at www.robobuam.de -> Projekt Robodrohne.
