Labview Example Stepper Motor

Postby LucaV » Fri May 03, 2013 4:00 am

Hi everyone,
i'am using the "1063_1 - PhidgetStepper Bipolar 1-Motor" with "3301_0 - 35BYG304 NEMA-14 Bipolar 27mm Stepper".
I downloaded the example from the website, "labview Stepper example 71" and i've modified it for my use.
The only thing i've not understood is what does represent target position on the program?
I mean: if i want to make my steper turn of 360 degrees, what number i have to insert in the program?
Numbers of target position represent steps or microsteps?
Thank you for all
Bye!

It depends on the step angle of your motor. Each increment in target position is 1/16th of a step.

So, if the step angle is 1,8° each increment is 1/16 of 1,8° right? I mean: if i have to move my motor of 1,8° i have to increase the number of 16 right?

That is correct.

LucaV,
I just purchased the 1067 controller and a stepper motor. Normally I have my brother do the code for me in Labview, but he just had a baby and will be out of the office for the next week. Any chance you could share your code with me? I need to have my motor run for a few minutes at a time at a fixed speed. I am hoping I can type in a desired speed and press play. Any chance you or anyone else out there could help me out?

I have access to Labview but I've never used it to write code, only to run programs from it.
Thanks!
Vadim
