[ Phidget Error Event: Authorization Failed. ]

Postby Pokas » Fri Mar 26, 2010 10:13 am

Hello

I just downloaded the code example for Flash AS3 and if I sellect RFID-full.fla file and do a "test movie", it will display on the Output windon: [ Phidget Error Event: Authorization Failed. ]

The WebService is Running (at least that's what it says) and also if I put a tag on the reader it will display the Tag ID.

Suddently (1 minute after) the Output window displays:
Error #2044: Unhandled securityError:. text=Error #2048: Security sandbox violation: file:///Macintosh%20HD/Users/elpok/Desktop/Flash.phidgets/RFID%2Dfull.swf cannot load data from localhost:5001.
at com.phidgets::PhidgetSocket()
at com.phidgets::Phidget/open()
at RFIDExample/frame1()

I'm wondering whether it could be cause because I haven't typed yet anything on Flash or due to a Flash problem.

Can anyone let me know?

Thank you
All the best,
Pokas

Have a look and the Getting started for Flash - you need to put in an exception in the global security settings, or network traffic is not allowed.

Hi Patrick,

Thank you for you reply.

You said I have
to put in an exception in global security settings
, but what for? to allow or not?

I don't understand, Does flash need to connect online somehow whenever i do a "test movie"?
Thanks

Hello again,

I just found out that if i disconnect Phidget WebService and I do a "test Movie" I get this message on the output window: [ Phidget Error Event: Error #2031: Socket Error. URL: localhost ]

but when I connect Phidget WebService and I do a "test Movie" it will display: [ Phidget Error Event: Authorization Failed. ]

Does it have any relation with what you pointed out (global security settings, or network traffic is not allowed) before?

Thank you,

All the best

Hi again,

I just realized that if you leave the Password box blank from Phidget Webservice and then do a "movie test". it will perform perfectly.

Hope this helps for anyone how faces this issue and doesn't know what to do.

Well if you specify a password for the webservice, you do need to also put this is the open command in the example.
