Phidget connection error on startup (Mojave)

I think this relates to the El Capitan issues.
I run an Electron app that auto starts after boot, it connects to my Phidget 8/8/8 and all is fine on two of my machines running High Sierra
But on my clients computer, a brand new Mac Mini that only runs Mojave and upwards, the phidget needs to be plugged in after startup otherwise the server timeouts. So it seems something was changed in Mojave.
