    Refine project<\/h2>\n
    In part 1, you set a distance to monitor.  If a person\/item is hovering at the boundary of the monitored area, you will receive many alerts, even though it is one item detected. To avoid unnecessary alerts, you will want to use a Hysteretic Function.For example, if you want to be alerted when a person\/item comes within 50 cm of your sensor. Instead of receiving entry and exit alerts at 50 cm, you offset these alerts.     Option 1. Use the Power Switch Phidget to turn on a light when an object is detected. (Distance light activation can be used to save energy and for security).<\/pee>Option 2. Add audio alerts when an object is detected. <\/pee>Option 3. Send text updates for entry\/exit. (Text alerts are great for remote security systems.)<\/pee>Option 4.
