I downloaded the lastes Phidgets21 installer file for my Mac and I am trying to run the RFID-full.fla and PhidgetRFIDExample.fla examples but they are giving me the following error:

[ Phidget Error Event: Error #2031: Socket Error. URL: localhost ]
Error #2044: Unhandled securityError:. text=Error #2048: Security sandbox violation: file:////Volumes/Macintosh%20HD/Users/brandon/Flash/RFID%2Dfull.swf cannot load data from localhost:5001.
at com.phidgets::PhidgetSocket()
at com.phidgets::Phidget/open()
at RFIDExample/frame1()

I have added everything in the Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager and I have made sure the web service was started but its still giving me this error.

Please help.

Thanks!

Have you read the security section on the getting started? Try running the examples in Debug mode.

Hi Patrick,

Yes, I read the security section and followed the instructions on adding each file and even the folder but I still cannot get it to work. I did try running the files in debug mode too. Any chance it is because I am working on a Mac? I have tried everything that people posted on the forums but I cannot get it to work. I know the RFID scanner is connected and I can toggle on and off the light from double clicking the divice in system preferences.

The port says 5001 under web service is this something I need to change? I am on a mac and I noticed when I move the usb to another usb port it doesnt changes.

Thanks!

Also, this is what I see under my USB device tree:

PhidgetRFID:

Product ID: 0x0031
Vendor ID: 0x06c2
Version: 2.06
Serial Number: 105071
Speed: Up to 1.5 Mb/sec
Manufacturer: Phidgets Inc.
Location ID: 0x04300000 / 4
Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): 100

Not sure if this helps.

Instead of running the application via (Debug | Debug Movie), does it help to run it in (Control | Test Scene) or (Control | Test Movie)?

No, I still get the same thing. I am using CS5.5 but I've also tested in CS3 without any luck.

I am not sure why it is not working for you.

When I open up the .fla file in Flash Professional and compile it, I add the .swf to the Flash Global Security Settings as shown in the attachment

I followed the instructions and added the location to the file but still I am getting an error. I attached a screen shot of the Flash Player Settings and the actual error.
