Hi. A while back I bought a "high low-end" park-distance kitk. It came with 8 sensors, two controll units and even a small LCD screen. Now I got my carputer installed with the phidget 8/8/8 board. What I want is to connect the park-distance sensors to the 8/8/8, but I have no idea of how the sensors work. I've been looking through the manual for the sensor-kit, but nothing is mentioned. All I can tell is that the plug which goes from the sensor has two contact points, I havent cut the cablee to see how many wires there are in, but I guess it is fair to say that it probably is two wires. Can someone help me with this?

You are probably going to have to cut the wires to get more information. There are probably 3, not just 2 (positive, negative, and data). The data is probably either a PWM (pulse width modulation) or a resistance sensor where the voltage being returned on the data wire is a proportion representing the observed value. I don't know of any other options, and a multi-meter would be able to tell you fairly certainly if it is returning a partial voltage that changes with the observation, an oscilloscope could tell you if it is a PWM signal.

Best option is to find manufacturer specs. Though you could always just risk it and plug it into the 8/8/8 and see what happens.
